Animal control is here to serve the community with domestic animal calls. Domestic animals include dogs and cats. Wild animals such as deer, bears, wolves…etc. should be referred to the Maine Warden Service at 1-800-432-7381. All nuisance animals such as foxes, skunks, raccoons, etc. are not handled by either the Animal Control or the Warden Service. However, do not hesitate to call if you believe the animal to be rabid.
A reminder that Dogs need to be registered once they reach six months of age. They will need to be registered every year after that. Neutered and spayed dogs are $6.00 and Non-Neutered and Non-Spayed are $11.00. Registration begins on October 15 and runs until December 31 of the current year. If you do not register your dog by then a late fee of $25.00 and the registration fee will apply on February 1.
